Wig Guide
Closure Options:
Frontal Effect: This is a free-part closure that replicates a frontal look. It is 100 % GLUELESS. You can part anywhere on the closure and add baby hair. Makeup is recommended to add to the lace for the perfect blend to your skin for a more natural look. The maintenance required is similar to that of a lace frontal. The hairline can thin out without proper care, just like with many lace frontals. Ensure you avoid applying too much tension near the hairline.
Basic closure: Highly recommended for first-time wig buyers, this style features a basic closure with a straight middle or side part. It requires minimal maintenance and has no edges. If desired, it can be easily styled to a frontal style during a revamp. (100% GLUELESS).
Frontal effect w/ baby hairs: Maintaining this style is similar to caring for a frontal effect. While baby hairs are popular, it's crucial to manage them properly. I recommend avoiding heavy gels or edge control, as they can weigh down the hairline and cause it to wear off. Instead, use mousse for the best results.
WIG SIZES:
Small (21-21.5), Medium (22-22.75), LARGE (23+)
UNDERSTANDING DENSITY:
- 180% Density: Requires 3 bundles, typically used for most units. It is best suited for lengths between 16-30 inches.
- 200% Density: Requires 4 bundles, ideal for 26- 40 inches long.
- 250% Density: Requires 5 bundles, ideal for 30 -40 inches long
LACE FRONT WIGS:
Lace frontal units come in sizes such as 13x4, 13x6, or full lace. The "13" refers to the width from ear to ear, while "4" or "6" indicates the depth of coverage in inches.
With a lace frontal, you can part your hair anywhere within the specified space and create various styles. However, lace frontals require high maintenance and can experience balding if not properly cared for and washed carefully.
These units are not glueless, so adhesives or Got2b Gel are recommended to secure them. A professional installation can significantly impact the final look, so it's advisable to have your wig installed by a stylist.
If you're new to wigs, starting with a closure unit might be a better choice. Be sure to thoroughly research lace frontals to understand what to expect before purchasing.
HAIR CARE TIPS:
Less is more when it comes to hair products. Adding too many products can lead to tangling and shedding, especially if used frequently. I use one product to style my wigs when it comes to straightening or curling: The Polish Up Hair Serum by BAYONE BEAUTY.
For my curly wigs I love to use LOTTABODY coconut activate me aviator. This defines the curls well and does not leave the hair crunchy.
I recommend the Suave Moroccan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner. It leaves the hair very soft; with a natural shine and smells amazing. You can find this product in Target, Walmart, or Family Dollar
